Rising Stars

Rising Star - October 2007 - Kira Seamon
She is an accomplished musician, playing the piano and violin. She completed the numerous requirements for the National Piano Playing Auditions administered by the National Guild of Piano Teachers. She has been a state winner and also received gold, silver, and bronze awards for her playing. Her playing, like her dancing, has been noted for its fluidity and imagination. One of Kira’s favorite musical moments was when she played a rare, 150 year old piece on the keyboard in the library of the Harvard Theater Collection. This was part of a long term research project on the composer Ludwig Minkus. It was a joy to hear the little known work come alive. After tearing her hamstring in class, Kira became certified by the American College of Sports Medicine and the American Council on Exercise as a health/fitness instructor, group exercise leader, and a personal trainer. She used this knowledge to bring herself back to dance. She will be in performance in October at the Dance Complex in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She will be performing her own choreography. This performance marks her Boston/Cambridge are debut. |
