Rising Star - November 2006 - Tasha LukenchukBorn: January 13, 1988 Tasha Lukenchuk began dancing at the age of 2 and a half at Sitters School of Dance, directed under Eloise Sitter. She became interested in jazz, tap, ballet, lyrical, hip hop and musical theatre. At the age of seven she performed with the Alberta Ballet as "a mouse" in the ballet The Nutcracker. Later in 1999, she landed the role of "Clara". She attended the Royal Winnipeg Ballet Summer School Professional Division in 1998, 2000 and 2001. The summer of 1999 she attended the National Ballet Summer School Professional Division in Toronto. After studying ballet and competitively dancing at her studio in Saskatoon, Tasha began auditioning for professional dancing, acting and modeling jobs. Tasha was cast as the host and dancer of Disney Winnie The Pooh Friendship Day Dance Fashion Show in 1998 (Winnipeg & Toronto), 1999 (Niagara Falls) and 2001 (Winnipeg). She was then cast the role as "Jennifer" in the movie I Downloaded a Ghost. In the summer Tasha had the pleasure to travel to New York City to model for the fall 2006 Frontline Dance Capezio Catalogue. Now after completing high school in June, Tasha is eighteen and ready to continue performing professionally. She is heading to Japan in February to dance with Tokyo Disney
