April 2005 - Shannon TarletonSpecialties: Figure Skating Shannon Tarleton started skating at the age of 5 and seriously at the age of 6. Her first competition was when she was 5 and she came in third place. That was the last time she came in third! She competes from March till October every season with a competition once a month. She has been in over 20 competitions and has never come in anything after 2nd place. She skates at the Juvenile level and has a double axel and her triple toe and triple salchow. She hopes to place in the top 4 at Regionals in October and onto the US Jr. Nationals. Shannon is the subject of the new book, Becoming A Figure Skater by Nancy Ellison. She is profiled from learning how to skate thru her last competition season. Shannon skates 5 days a week and does off-ice 3 days a week. |
