The Wizards Dancers are a multi-talented, high-energy dance team comprised of 15 dancers who represent the most powerful city in the world. The Wizards players aren’t the only athletes taking the court at the MCI Center. With their intricate dance moves and exciting routines, the Wizards dance team rocks the MCI Center at every home game. These women execute dance routines that require a combination of strength, flexibility, and timing. In addition to performing at all home games, the Wizards dancers add professionalism and class to charitable events throughout the DC, Maryland, and Virginia areas.

The Wizards Dancers range in age from 19-30 and are full-time working professionals, full-time college students, or maintain both! These women are extremely well-rounded and diverse to say the least. It takes passion, dedication, and discipline to be a Wizards dancer. The dancers hit the gym for a team workout and rehearsal 2 nights per week for 3-4 hours a night year round in addition to their rigorous work, school, charity, and game schedules.

The Wizards Dance team is under the amazing direction of Director and Choreographer Wanda Brown. Ms. Brown has been dancing for over 20 years and has choreographed for numerous high school, collegiate, and professional teams. Wanda is the former captain/choreographer of the eight-time national championed Towson University Dance Team. Throughout her career Wanda has danced and studied with famed dancers and choreographers throughout the US. Ms. Brown is a former seven year head instructor for Universal Dance Association. Wanda also enjoyed two years as a Washington Redskins Cheerleader before joining the Wizards Dance Team in 2003. With great strength and dedication Ms. Brown hopes to continue making the Wizards Dance Team the best in the NBA!

Prep classes will be held throughout May and June 2005 with auditions concluding in mid July. The Wizards Dance Team is also excited to be returning for out 2nd year to Pro Dance 2005 in Miami, FL from July 31st through August 3rd. Check www.washingtonwizards.com for updates. HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!
