The Dallas Sidekicks Sizzle Dance Team

History

The 2001 Dallas Sidekicks Season kicked off with a new addition to the team, a group of dancers called the Dallas Sidekicks "Sizzle". Under the direction of Kimberly Peterson and Leslie Shaw-Hatchard, these talented dancers greeted and entertained fans throughout each 2001 Dallas Sidekicks' home game. As the Dallas Sidekicks kicked their way to a championship trophy in 2001, the "Sizzle" amazed the crowds by performing highly technical dance routines to upbeat, high energy music. The Dallas Sidekicks "Sizzle" made their presence known with a style of class and professionalism that cannot be matched.

Five returning members plus five new dancers from the 2002 auditions held in April brings the 2002 - 2003 squad tally to ten. The "Sizzle" features dance instructors, students and career women who hold positions in the fields of administration, education, information technology and real estate.

Memorable "Sizzle" Moments

"During one game, the announcer would not stop talking while the beginning of our music played. We missed our cue, but continued to stand in beginning position on the field. The wonderful Sidekicks crowd showed their support of us by showering us with applause."

"By far the very best game had to be the 'Cool School' game, where area schools took a field trip to see the Dallas Sidekicks play in Reunion Arena. To witness the kids have so much fun and awe at the players and dancers was uplifting and joyous."
