Dance Force ProductionsLocation: Houston, TX. HistoryDance Force Productions, founded January 1999 as Houston Dance Force, is a professional dance company which provides dance entertainment for corporations, recording artists, charity events, nightclubs, grand openings, fashion shows, private parties, and sporting events. The company also provides dance instruction and choreography for fitness facilities, dance studios, schools, recording artists, and fitness and dance competitors. Dance Force specializes in hip-hop dance productions, but also incorporates jazz, disco, salsa, jitterbug, breaking, tumbling, and theatrical dance. "Our goal is to intermingle musical theatre and cutting-edge urban dance in our hopes to delight and excite our audiences!" This can be seen with production numbers such as Dancin’ through the Decades; Latin Beat, Latin Heat; DiscoMania; Wild, Wild West; Smooth Moves; Moulin Rouge, Hip-Hop Show and the upcoming Chicago. The company maintains between fifteen to twenty-five dancers. Our dancers are well diverse coming from a variety of dance backgrounds. Each dancer brings their own unique style, high energy, and professionalism. AppearancesDance Force has appeared in the quarter-finals of Ed McMahon’s Next Big Star contest and also won 1st place at the National D.A.L.L.A.S. Dance Contest, September 2002. The company has also performed for clients such as the Igloo Corporation, Minute Maid Corporation, Bally Total Fitness, Subway, Houston’s Children’s Festival, Great Southwest Lindyfest, and Penguin Entertainment to name a few. Our dancers have also worked with numerous recording artists including Jeannie Tracy, David Lopez, Surabian, Solange, Angelina, and Brian McKnight and can be seen in such movies as Too Legit, The MC Hammer Story, for VH1 and TV Shows like MTV’s The Grind. Our team of directors, choreographers, and dancers welcome the challenge of providing customized and affordable entertainment for all ages and preferences. Audition InformationBoth amateurs and professional are encouraged to audition. Solos are optional but recommended. Attire: Participants should wear comfortable dance clothes and dance sneakers. Knee pads are recommended. Requirements: Dancers must be at least 17 years of age to be selected for the company, but all ages are welcome to try-out to gain audition experience. There will be an audition fee of $10. Spectators are not allowed in the audition room. |
